The following rules attempt to make registration as fair as possible to all who wish to participate...
Any situation not covered in these rules should be addressed to the Event Director ([email protected]). Interpretations of these rules will be decided by the planning committee. It is recognized that there will be a large number of individuals desiring to participate in this event and that combined with certain unfortunate situations out of our control may result in unfortunate outcomes that may seem unfair to some individuals.
Special cases where the rules below are broken will not be allowed.

- The New Orleans Memorial Stair Climb is ONLY open to active duty (paid or volunteer) firefighters, active duty LEO (paid or reserve) and active duty Emergency Medical Services personnel. IF YOU SIGN UP AND YOU ARE NOT A FIRST RESPONDER, YOUR ENTRY FEE WILL BECOME A DONATION!
- Climbers must be 18 years of age or older to climb (NO exceptions).
- Registration for the climb will open on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 7:00am CST and will close once all 411 spots and 11 alternates are filled. Serving as an alternate is very important and should be considered an honor, as your place on that list guarantees that all 411 are represented at the climb. Returning climbers will be able to register 1 day early on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 7:00am CST. (An email will be sent with instructions and a code to gain early access.) Sorry but EVENTBRITE changed their platform, so there was NO early registration access code.
- The registration homepage is accessed via “Register” in the navigation bar located on www.NewOrleansStairClimb.com.
- The registration cost is $50.00, plus transaction fee, and covers event expenses such as event insurance and administration costs as well as the participant t-shirt "ditty" bag. The planning committee will decide on an amount needed to carry forward for the following year’s event expenses, if needed, and all remaining registration fees will be given to our event beneficiaries as decided by the event planning committee.
- There will be a high demand to participate, so PLEASE REGISTER EARLY BECAUSE WE WILL SELL OUT!
- All climbers should consult their physician and be engaged in an adequate physical conditioning program prior to the event.
- Participants must agree to the event rules and sign a liability waiver and photo release.
- Registrants should receive, print and completely read the confirmation email(s) AND any links and attachments as they contain important information, including what to expect next in the process.
- Individuals who experience difficulty in the registration process should contact us immediately via email in order to resolve their issue(s).
- No substitutions will be allowed. Vacancies will ONLY be filled by alternates residing on our alternate list.
- Because registration proceeds cover event expenses, WE DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS.
